There Will Be Peas

February 25th, 2007

I was looking at Davey today, as he took a five minute catnap on my shoulder, and thought to myself how fast time is flying by already. It was just yesterday that I was taking preggo pictures in the bathroom mirror with my cell phone camera, wasn’t it? Feels like just last week we were still in Georgia getting ready to move back to New York. And, wasn’t it the previous month that Olivia and I attended Thinking Day, dressed up in traditional Indian garb?

Before I know it Davey will be walking, talking and climbing. Before we know it we’ll have to worry about the fallen penny or magnetix on the floor. Before they know it the kids will be including their tiny brother in their games and play. Before he knows it [Davey] will be throwing food off his high chiar, to the dogs.

And, just as when the other three were toddlers, there will be peas! There will be peas between my toes and I will look at my youngest and say, “Davey, eat your peas!”

It’s About Damn Time & (almost) 2 Months

February 20th, 2007

I haven’t blogged in quite a while. A real, actual blog. I still don’t know what to write about. Life is seemingly chaotic at present time. The baby keeps me on my toes, not to mention the kids schooling and other duties (I said “duties” *snicker*). The house duties (I said “duties” again) do suffer but there’s only so much I can do. Thank the Lord, my mother does our laundry. I’d certainly fall victim to some kind of coronary attack if I had to do that.

It’s that time of the month where I start to miss Georgia. I start to miss the house (not as much as I missed Oehman when we left Cheektowaga), I miss my friends, I miss all the goings-on that we attending, I miss the scenery, I miss THE MILD WINTER, I miss my mother-in-law…I just miss it all! I seriously wouldn’t mind living in that area ever again.

Now I’m onto another monthly gripe: My Weight. I am going to join Weight Watchers and will do the Flex Plan. I also need to recommit to exercise. What I’m going to do is start with 3 days of Pilates (Winsor). Now if I can just find the time for both the WW meeting AND the pilates workout.

The baby is magnificent. He’s so cuddly and loveable. On Sunday I took him to the kids’ dance practice. Then, last night, we took him to Target and Kohl’s. I had to breastfeed him in Kohl’s but it wasn’t that bad to nurse in public. I wish it was more socially acceptable; it really should be.

Davey’s Almost Two Month Milestones:
-smiling
-cooing
-reaching for stuff (mainly my hair and nose)
-finding things visually pleasurable (especially the map of the USA, on the wall)
-finally getting the hang of sucking on a pacifier

Cooing is my favorite!! I just love when babies get vocal.

Time to go. My cooey-cuddley is calling me!
