NaPloBoMo: Coming to You From Here!

These are the places I blog from. I also blog from my bed, but you aren’t seeing that pic. My room is the catch all. It catches clean clothes, dirty clothes, light sabres, drawings, old magazines, you name it…
We bought this house in July, moved in on August 1st. It’s a brand new home and we have many plans for it. My plans (which, in turn, become “our plans”) are as follow:
- Paint the rooms, various earthy colors
- Get some IKEA shelves for the kids’ rooms, to better organize toys AND clothes
- Purchase a nice, sturdy bookshelf for our living room
- Tile the kitchen backsplash
- Get a stainless fridge to match the dishwasher, stove, and microwave/range
We’ll probably be here a few years, and then who knows what will happen. Right now, the house is perfect. It’s not too big, not too small (just the size of city hall), and in the times of energy worries we are happy that our house is not a waste of any. We’re not cooling/heating unnecessarily, and that makes me feel good.
The only thing that doesn’t make me feel good is all the dog poop. I keep forgetting to buy a shovel. Our yard is a veritable land mine of dog doodies!
Happy 1st day of NaPloBoMo!!!!

I like your house a lot. I have house envy bad. One year soon I will buy my own house. Until then I will just lust after everyone elses. Happy Day!

I hear ya, Serina.. I’ve had house envy for many years.. And, even down here, it’s easy to have house envy. Everyone lives in these McMansions. I’d rather be here, though.. Keeping it real, yo!

Just popped in from Novembrance’s blog and want to say Happy New House! We moved more times than I care to remember, including across the Atlantic Ocean. It’s been fun (kind of). You make new friends, see new things–and best of all, you get to clean out the closets :-)

Beautiful house… I, too, have house envy. One year I might be able to AFFORD something to call our own… a shack may be all I can hope for unless we make a BIG move… outta here! :)
IKEA rocks… and sturdy bookshelves are always a MUST! :)
BTW, I left you a little something on my blog today! :)

I’m having a hard time getting past the clean in your house. I”m really jealous of your domestic skills. Can I borrow them sometime?
And, thanks for the approval on the saint list today. I spent several weeks on it.

Happy first day!!! Your house sounds and looks fabuloso! I love the idea of the tile backsplash, definitely a must. You must blog and show pics of the various projects you complete. I can’t wait to see.

There are details that pictures show, then there are details that the photographer smartly neglects. ;)

Michael, you need to STFU! ;)

Oh, it looks so cosy! And your kitchen space…goodness, I would die to have a kitchen that size, that airy and that bright! I live vicariously through my man who have a large kitchen, but it being a bachelor pad, it’s not too airy and the sun doesn’t stream in. :( Oh, your fireplace! I can imagine just lying down there with doggie and a mug of hot choco in winter.
Ok, why am I having house envy too out of a sudden?

Gloria, I will say that the one thing I LOVE about this house is how much light comes in through the windows. It’s very positive on the soul.

ahhh, that living room just makes me wanna curl up on the sofa with a book and a cup of tea (you do allow food in there, right?). Great start to NaPloBoMo! Also, LOVE your blog design!

Janet: The kids are only allowed to eat on the floor, on a blanket. The grownups, however, can eat and drink anywhere.. LOL I love being a grownup!!
