Great TT- we love beans here, and yes, there are also gas issues in this household. But no matter, they are good for you, as you have so wonderfully pointed out!

I love butterbeans with some Chef Pauls Seasoning Salt. Which also makes me sing a version of the above song.

Which of course I will be singing in my head for the rest of the day!!!

One of my favorite musicians in the world, Charlie Daniels, sang in his song, "What this world needs is a few more rednecks..."

I was raised on beans and cornbread
And I like my chicken fried

I, too, was raised on beans and cornbread... white beans, lovingly cooked by my Mom and her mother, Grandma Hazel. A typical meal at Grandma's house was white beans, cornbread, and fresh sliced tomatoes.

One time, I ate more beans than I should have and my stomach swelled with gas from the beans. I was in pain and the only thing my Grandma could think of as a quick remedy was to give me a Miller Pony to burp off the gas! So there I was, swollen belly, beer in hand, and reclined in front of the window unit air conditioner. She was so scared she almost took me to the hospital, which in a town of only 900 people is nothing more than a band-aid station.
