Project 365 (147/365)
The Bells
These bells were on the back door of the first home we owned. The house was owned by a little elderly woman, and we don’t know why she left them, but we certainly couldn’t leave them when we moved. During GA Part I, they were on the front door, and currently adorn our front door. These bells are special to us, and my goal is to have them on every front door of whatever house we call home.

Back to TopIf we don’t succeed, we run the risk of failure.

How interesting….and a cute way of transferring one person’s possession to a treasure of your own.
Oh I posted pictures today…not nearly as good as yours…
That’s just cool. I love cool stuff like that.
We used bells like that on our back door to train our old dog to ring them when she wanted to go out. :)
Did the woman have a dog?
Maybe she just liked the way they sounded when someone came in – like entering a small store or boutique.
I love that :o} I actually have the same exact bells; my Grandmother gave them to me. She and my Grandpa alwyas put them on the back door at Christmas time and now I put them on the front door every Christmas season. They remind me of sleighbells!
AndreAnna: I don’t think she had any pets. I love the way they sound… :)
Great photo and story!
When we moved into the house we live in now there was a home-made mobile left hanging in the garage that the little old man that was there before us left behind, or rather his family left it behind. It was an estate sale.
The mobile has different colored flamingo’s hanging from each point. I think they are made of paper. I don’t know how long they’ll hold up but we think it’s pretty special. I don’t have a picture of it and need to get one.
Gee, sorry for rambling. :)
I have bells just like that on my front door for the dogs to jingle when they need to go out. I love the sound they make when somebody opens the door, especially when that somebody is the one-year old body that likes to make a run for it when we forget to lock the door. :-)
great image angle and story …come on ring those bells … means someone is visiting or you are going out -
What a cute idea!
(great perception on the photog work there, chicka!)
Brandy: That’s cool!!
Chuck: Loved the story.
Burgh Baby’s Mom: My friend has her dog trained like that, it’s the neatest.
Trish: I’m ringing incessantly now!
Emmasometimes: Well, hello there, beautiful lady!
That’s pretty neat!
Hey, that’s really cool. Makes the transition meaningful.
