Project 365 (182/365)

I was 32 when I started cooking; up until then, I just ate.
—Julia Child
I learned to cook in my 30′s, so I can totally relate to Julia Child’s quote.

i always knew how to cook but, when i was married to my ex-husband…he didn’t like my cooking. so…i stopped. then, i just fed my kids noodles, chicken nuggets and all the childhood standards…and i just binged eat. now…i love cooking. my hubby…loves my cooking. but my kids…they might be starving to death!! oh well, at least my husband is being well fed!
and…yes, let’s get started on the project lovey badge!! i’d like to start getting the word out. next week, when all the kids are back in school…i’m going to dive into this, head first!! we aren’t in a huge hurry, as far as supplies go, though because, as of right now…i don’t have shelters picked out. i’m going to start out with one or two…and, depending on how many people are truly interested…we’ll go from there!!
xoxo
Love the lobster!
Why, oh why must cooking and eating be so closely related? I think I’d like cooking so much more if I didn’t have to think about the caloric and fat content of every dang recipe!
I eat. And I cook. I just do the first one better ;)
Looks like you have a nice set of tools on side there!
Heather, it’s a crawfish/crawdad. Cousins right?
Marge, I gain wait just thinking about food. I effin’ give up.
Sandy, love my Calephelon!!
If you ever get a chance, watch the Biography of her. She had a cool life.
And, I see you Mishi.
So if I started cooking as a kid, does that mean I can sit back now and just eat? ‘Cuz I’m tired of cooking.
I just cooked for my hubby for the first time a week ago. We have been together 12 yrs.
does the crawdad have a name?
I like how you can spy the shooter’s reflection in the microwave
So what made u decide to start cooking? I could put togeher a few things to sustain us lol but just finally had the interest and it was nice to eat something good for a change and just kept going but I would say I was 30 too before I finally decided to do it.
PG: No name on him, but he’s been with us for many, many years! Our kitchen wouldn’t be the same without him.
Kitty: The Atkins Diet, believe it or not! An idea that I’ve been toying with again. I loved how I felt when I ate that way (I didn’t eat all fat and butter, mostly greens and lean meats). I lost 70lbs that way, too.
I love that Julia Child quote because it shows that it’s never too late to learn anything.
that photo is so cute….thanks for sharing!
Great quote! Cute lobster! Food rules!!
i started cooking at 7. i guess seven was a pretty pivotal age for me.
You always say so little and say soooo much. I heart you.
My mom had me cooking at 8…. I swear. I don’t remember not knowing how..
I LOVE your lobster in a big way.
I started late too, actually when I go married.
This is for you:

Julia was the bomb…still is, in my book.
Couldn’t agree with you more, Emms!
