Project 365 (214/365) | Weekend Odyssey

Weekend [Honda] Odyssey
Friday: My beautiful red van took me safely to Mo’s house, where we all met to go out on the town. They wouldn’t let me drive because I have a bit of a “need for speed”. So, I was the passenger in someone else’s Honda Odyssey. On the way home, though, I pumped up the jams. It was one of those rides where the night time DJ actually plays good music. If only you could hear me. Sucks that I’m too old for American Idol, yo!
Saturday: My reliable scarlet girlfriend carried Olivia, Davey, and I to the park where Olivia had soccer practice. Afterwards she soothed Davey to sleep with the wonderful way she doesn’t shake and make noise as we made our way to Walmart (aka HELL). I finally got Livey’s cleats and some practice clothes. After we got home I made lunch, we ate, and then we got ready for the Easter Egg Hunt (aka SELFISH PARENTS EGG-STRAVAGANZA). Our beauty comforted us as she listened to us complain about the hunt. I dropped the big kids off at home and she helped me out by playing Davey’s favorite Thomas video while I drove to HELL again and then to HELL II (aka the mall).
Sunday: The day of rest. We celebrated Easter with a fun at-home egg hunt, lounging, resting, and eating a wonderful dinner that I made. Our girl sat in the driveway, next to our boy, waiting for us to go somewhere, but we didn’t go anywhere. Later in April we will celebrate Orthodox Easter in Buffalo (I’m 90% sure we will, at least). Until then I will continue to love on our ride, our great new ride, the one I am so thankful to have!
Monday: We drove Michael to the train early this morning. On the way up we stopped for OJ and iced coffee at Dunkin’s, and then we went to HELL to get some milk and a few extra items. HELL is not so bad at 7:30am; it’s actually kinda close to HEAVEN, at that early hour. Even the kids noticed how nice it was. When I suggested that was when we should do our shopping the only responses I got were: “Are you serious?”, “You must be kidding, Mama!”, and “Stop making such nonsense, please!”
Later today she carried us off to Starbucks (214 was snapped in the drive-thru) and Karate. Afterwards we met Mo and her crew for dinner at Wendy’s (our “dive” and probably the last time we eat there together). Then back home and now I’m almost ready for bed.
Tomorrow she’ll take us a few towns over where we will have lunch with Nissa. Then co-op. Then soccer. Then back to where I am now: Ready for slumber.

Life’s like a vehicle on the road. Sometimes there are traffic lights, speeding tickets, break downs, drive thrus, blind spots, but for the most part it’s a fun, smooth ride, filled with laughter, music, happy destinations, and love. I’m enjoying my Odyssey. Figuratively and literally.

You’re having lunch with Nissa?! Very cool.
Seems like your minivan is on its way to hell…alot. Mine is too. I am totally jealous of the red color. Although you can’t call yours the “silver bullet”. Yep.
So, you got ya self a Honda Goddessy, huh? Love mine!!!
Girlfriend, only you could turn a Honda symbol into a work of art, both in pictures and words.
Love it. And I love my Odyssey as well. We call mine The Big Grey Goose.
I love Odysseys, too…heck anything Honda..nice capture, BTW.
They are so nice to drive, especially cause I drive around a piece of crap that liters the road with the parts that fly off on a routine basis.
Your little diddy on your Odyssey is very poignant and beautiful…well said.
I had such an awesome time today! Your kids are so great .(I already knew you’d be!) Can’t wait till we can get Tristan & Mikey together, too.
I didn’t get to check out your new ride! How’d that happen??
Great shot!
Life with a minivan is a necessity, not a want. At least that’s what I tell myself.
My SIL in Australia loves their Honda Odyessy – it their second one now.
