Thursday Thirteen XXX: 13 Things About Olivia

  1. Today is Olivia’s 9th Birthday! When she woke up this morning I sang an upbeat “Happy Birthday” song that included clapping and stomping. After that was done her brothers asked her for her autograph.
  2. Olivia is super creative. Her love of arts and music will surely have an impact on her life, as she grows.
  3. Livey is a lover of animals. It pains her that we cannot have cats (Mama’s deathly allergic); she’d love to have one or two to love. At co-op this year she took a full year of Zoology and absolutely loved it. Often times she will tell us a fact or fifteen about some animal that she’s learned about. She has taken over most of the care for our old girls (the dogs) from taking them out, to feeding them, to scooping their poop. Animals are just her thing!
  4. She’s the only granddaughter on both sides of the family!
  5. For Christmas she got a Karaoke machine that doubles as a boom box. Her latest obsession is to close her bedroom door and listen to music. LOUD!
  6. She’s a sucker for a stuffed or plastic animal (see #3). She’s had so many of each in the past nine years that we could have probably opened up our own store. Still, yesterday she told me that she didn’t have a panther and could she please get the one she saw at Kroger.
  7. Livey is anti-saving money. Get a quarter, spend a quarter is her motto!
  8. Yesterday, for her “birthday dinner” she chose Zaxby’s. Though, in recent times, she’s become a bit more picky. Don’t give her macaroni-and-cheese, she will scoff at it. One of her favorite things is salad with croutons and lots of blue cheese or ranch. Oh, and she’s a sucker for some watermelon!
  9. Being the only girl in the family, she’s a bit bossy towards her brothers. Sometimes it makes me giggle. Other times it makes me scream.
  10. Her feelings get hurt easily.
  11. She’s the jam master laundry girl.
  12. Livey’s been talking since six months of age. She’s verbal and can convey things that most nine year olds cannot. I’m sure she gets this from me.
  13. She can hold her own, in any situation, and is strong-willed, determined, brilliant, compassionate an from her father she gets her sassy attitude. There’s so much about her that is great, so much about her to love. We are a million times lucky to have her!
