100 Words: Hidden (Hooked)

Posted on April 23, 2008 by Mishelle | 16 Comments

I can’t
I won’t
It’s sad
It hurts
The pain
The lies
The cost
The loss
My heart
It broke
The past
Long gone
And still
I sit
I wonder
I balk
I question
How come
And why
Just some
Too much
Or maybe
Just maybe
The pain
Is deep
And maybe
Just maybe
Evil creeps
Sadness looms
Happiness doomed
Squinted eye
Furrowed brow
Underneath it
Somewhere somehow
Truth sprouts
Good grown
Paths chosen
Evil dethroned
I can
I will
I’m happy
You know
My slate
Is clean
My heart
Is well
You’ll see
You will
What’s hidden
Must stay

Well crap. I went and read yours before I wrote mine! *lol* Now I’m befuddled and feel quite unworth ;)

Okay. Now I’m confused. I thought the Challenge for this week was “Hooked”. Not that I don’t like and admire what you just did. Because I do. That’s an amazing piece of work. But I thought it was supposed to be something else ……

  10. Mishelle Says:

Yeah, I’m trying to pull a Judith Shakes here! Not using the word, but letting the reader’s mind wrap around this one, essentially getting hooked.

  11. Mishelle Says:

Oh duh, and now I see that we’ve used Hidden once. I’m a dupe!! LOL

Better luck at pulling a Shakes next time. HA!

  12. Maggie Says:

Just very wow. I loved it. It’s like I can nod along totally getting it without having any actual clue what you are really talking about because you are the master of the 100 word thing like that.

  13. Tara R. Says:

    That was incredibly cool.

  14. Bren Says:

    Wow! That was awesome!

  15. Cathy Says:

    Wow. That was neat.

  16. Velvet Verbosity Says:

Why am I always the last to comment? You silly woman, you wrote about Hidden instead of Hooked, but you know what? It still works. So there.
