Who Are These Silly Monkeys and Why Are They Eating All the Bananas?
I have to wonder what these kids are saying about me after a conversation I heard yesterday.
Truth be told, I am the ultimate “Silly Monkey”, and I let that be known daily. This silliness doesn’t get shushed when the kids’ friends (or cousins) come around, rather it is amplified.
So, yesterday I was being my good ole goofy self while I was preparing some mac-n-cheese for dinner. The kids were playing Mario Kart Wii and Joe was laughing at his funny aunt.
“Your Mama is so silly!”
“Yeah. Actually she had a brain injury when she was in high school.”
Whhhhhaaaaa???
“Oh yeah, Mikey, I forgot about that. She had a really big head injury!”
Whhhhhaaaaa???
“Guys! Why are you lying about me? That’s horrible. Joe, I’ve never had a brain injury.”
“Yeah, she lies a lot because of the brain injury!”
“MICHAEL!”
“Let’s not upset her, she might get a bad headache.”
“OLIVIA!”
“Don’t hurt your brain, Mama!”

I can’t trust these kids now. They’re going out in their world of friends telling them I’ve had massive head traumas and whatnot. Seriously!

I don’t know how I can handle that should my kids spread that about me.
Part of me would be mad about it and the other one would probably ride with it. :)
