1:40 — Just got to the pool with Mikey, Livey, and Benny. It’s not as crowded, as I would’ve thought, for a Saturday. Benny just jumped off the diving board, and Livey is right behind him. Mikey’s in the corner of the pool, at 5 ft. possibly making a friend. Best $100 of the season!

1:45 — Yep! Mikey has paired up with another boy his age. They are using his tube, jumping into it from the sides. Two little boys in front of me are eating nachos and ringpops, at the same time. Nutrition, poolside, at it’s finest.

1:55 — First to break into the snack bag, at first break:

2:03 — Life Guard’s whistle just blew and everyone’s back in!

2:15 — Sharks and Minnows in 3 feet. Looks like Benny’s it!

2:19 — Benny’s still it. Oh no! He’s not playing anymore. Being a shark is hard, yo.

2:28 — Mikey’s going off the diving board. Benny is swimming in 10 feet with his tube, and Livey is hanging out with some kids she made friends with. The water is calling me, but I’m in clothes, in the shade, piddling around here. No swimming for Mama today since Davey is at home with Papa.

2:32 — There’s a family here, sitting beside me, they have six kids. Their littlest one is sleeping in the lounge chair. The mom moved across the way to another lounger, as the dad was playing volleyball with his eldest son. The mom and dad are mad at each other, or so it seems. Cold stares and no words.

2:44 — Just bought a diet coke. Time for a cold drink. Next break time will be in 6 minutes.

2:48 — Loud, obnoxious lady in the pool; 12 o’clock. My God she’s loud. Break whistle just blew. We might leave.

2:56 — 2 snacks consumed and it was agreed that we’d stay a little longer.

3:08 — To the right of me is a grandmother who has brought her two tween granddaughters to the pool. She bought them some nachos on the last break. They were so sweet with her. She said, “Do y’all love me for bringin’ y’all here?” and they said “We love you even if you didn’t.” There’s just something about grandparents and grandchildren, eh?

3:10 — Swim addicts

3:12 — Mikey’s friend wants him to come over.

3:15 — My battery is giving up. Waaahhhhh…
