Best Shot: Stalker Mama

Davey is now 20 months old. Kinda hard to believe that–in four months time–he will be two. His vocabulary grows daily, along with his actions, and I’m quite convinced that we have another little genius here. I am biased, though, like the *gypsy with the sandwich.
His current obsession is with lights. Every flicker, every shimmer, every beam gets noticed. It’s pure joy; if only we could all see [the light] with his reckless abandon. I love this phase of toddlerhood, I do! Everything is so new and exciting. There’s a need to touch everything, a need to investigate without knowledge of the consequence of the action. If there’s a couch to be climbed upon, he’ll climb it. If there’s an open door to go through, he’ll go through. If there is, he’ll be. Irritating as it may seem or be, it’s a toddler’s rite of passage; with all of this comes a growth that is unstoppable. I see where it leads, I just don’t want [him] to get there so quickly.
*gypsy with the sandwich:
There’s a story about a gypsy taking lunch to her daughter at school. On the way, a villager asked her to take a sandwich to her daughter. The gypsy asked how would she know which child was hers? The villager answered that hers was the most beautiful child in the schoolyard. Once all the kids were out the gypsy looked around and spotted the most beautiful child; it was her own daughter who enjoyed two sandwiches that day!

Cool shots! Love the colour!
I did not realize how close in age Davey and Madigan are – Mags will be 19 months on the 6th. What a fun age – always exploring and learning and well, getting into trouble!
Enjoy the last little bit of summer! Cheers!
oh wow. fantastic!!!
what cool shots and I LOVE LOVE LOVE that story!
Love the use of the filter! Thanks for that, you make me realise that Connor is just normal! You forget about the madness of toddlers so quickly
Those are gorgeous, and I’m not just saying this because it’s easy.
I always have been fascinated by light too!
Great shots! My 21-month old is exactly the same way….he walks around saying “aaaiiiiigggghhht” (light) every time he sees one….even if it is off! And the climbing drives me insane….I am in constant paranoia mode…just waiting for the next head bump!
Very cool lens!! I love the shots and they are so perfect for your story about Davey.
Oh, what funky shots. So perfect for the playground.. and for sneaking.
Hi, this is the first time i have seen someone spell their name like mine. Is it not the correct way to spell Mishelle? I think so. Great name.. Mishelle
What a great way to experience the world. Everything new. Everything worth exploring. Your pictures are amazing (just looked through a bunch of your recent ones).
