The Tremendously Crazy Cat Chase
By: Olivia
One day my friend Katie and I were jumping on the trampoline with my brother and my friend’s sister. Then Miss Beverly, our neighbor, came out to give me the little book with Shawn, the Olympic Gymnast, who has won a lot of medals. Miss Beverly said she looks like me so she let me borrow it for a few days. I asked her about her roses and how they were growing, and she asked if I wanted to see them. I exclaimed, “Yes, I would love to see your flowers.”
After we were done looking at the roses I saw my mom and Katie’s mom coming up the hill from their walk. My mom then came over to the flowers and Miss Beverly asked her if we’d like to take some roses home. We said, “Yes!” So, she picked some. My mom and brothers went home and I stayed with Miss Beverly in her house to play with her cat, Rocky, while she got the roses together.
Rocky is an adorable little thing! I played with him for a while as Miss Beverly went to our house to deliver the roses. And just as she was going over to our house, Mama came over to her house to get me. Mama opened the door and—BOOM—Rocky shot out the door. I ran after that quickster, and he was zigzagging in the front yard. I quickly ran towards him but he ran into the other neighbor’s yard, on to his porch, and then into he other neighbors’ yard. He went down the very steep dirt hill, under their trampoline, into their kiddy park, but then their fence stopped him. I picked him up and ran back through the yards, barefooted, but still I continued for the cat’s sake to return him safely to his home.
After all of that Mama and Miss Beverly came strolling up the yards. I held the flowers in the vase and explained it all again in one breath. From now on we all know not to open and close Miss Beverly’s doors! We had a good laugh as we told each other all about the funny cat chase!
