con·trast

transitive verb
to compare so as to point out the differences; set off against one another

intransitive verb
to show differences when compared; form a contrast

noun
1. a contrasting or being contrasted
2. a difference, esp. a striking difference, between things being compared
3. a person or thing showing differences when compared with another
4. the effect of a striking difference, as in color or tone, of adjacent parts of a painting, photograph, video-screen image, etc.

A contrast can clearly be made between Secret Agent Mama and Mishelle.  Secret Agent Mama is edited while, in real life, Mishelle is not.  Mishelle makes mistakes.  Mishelle is not always presentable.  Mishelle doubts herself much, much more than Secret Agent Mama ever could.

Mishelle is Secret Agent Mama.
Secret Agent Mama is not always Mishelle.
Self vs. Blog: a very interesting comparison.

That really sums up all of us bloggers, I think. We choose what we want to show through our pictures and writing. I find it a struggle to edit my life in that way; perhaps only showing one side of me makes me feel more secure than I am.

Again, a gorgeous photo. I don’t know how you manage to take such terrific self portraits!
