I’m not so convinced this is our Christmas card portrait.
Even with the various post processing.
Totally cute, though, and worth showing off!
Tomorrow we will try again.
Different location, different outfits, same children.

Very cute shot but I have to agree. They blend in too much with the back ground. Need more contrast between the background and foreground. You take amazing shots so I am sure you’ll end up with something great!

I like the top one the most! Those colors are too Christmas-y to pass up. I tried to have my dad take some family photos of us for the card but Emma was not cooperative. She’s the worst subject and has no interest in hamming it up for the camera, probably because she’s had one stuck in her face since the day she was born.

I have always said that taking other kids’ pics was/is so much easier than taking my own. I think it’s the background and the poses. I couldn’t get much more than that because Davey was so jazzed about the surroundings. (read: the lights and “balls”)

post-process challenge – leave the pic B/W but make just the lights colored. Would be a cool effect, no? Great pic BTW.

I actually really like the background, and just think the some of the outfits blend in too much. Dark on dark, y’know? Although, I think I would tell them to make a goofy pose to liven things up a bit. I know that group is totally capable of playing a little “Vogue.”

I agree with you this is totally cute. It would be a great photo for someone like me(to have taken). However, your talent can provide so much more. Of course, I only have one so what do I know about geting all for together. I do love your photos. Happy holidays.
