Meet Lotus
This is Lotus. Sometimes I call her Loter. Sometimes I call her Beesh. But mostly I call her my Friend.
Lotus believed with every ounce of her being that I was going to go to BlogHer. At one point I called and told her that it wasn’t happening. Michael lost his job; there just wasn’t any sense in even thinking about going. What did Lotus do? Did she fill my spot in the room that we were going to share? Did she accept my answer as final? Did she count me out as I had already counted myself? No-freaking-way! She knew I would go. She knew things would work out. She believed.
We’ve been blogging together for quite a while now. Our boys are almost the same age and we just get each other. I’m pretty sure that we’ll be friends for a long time. Honestly, I don’t think I see myself without such a friend whose name clearly describes her.
Lotus is a flower.
Her smile is true.
Her eyes are deep.
Her heart is kind.
Her love is fragrant.
I hope she always saves that spot in the room for me.

Awww, so sweet! And excellent photo too!
Lotus: I have to say that when I saw you at BlogHer, the first thing I thought was, “WOW, she’s gorgeous!” (and I mean that in the straightest way possible) I wish I had been able to spend more time chatting with you. Next time! :)

What a gorgeous photo and tribute!
I met Lotus at BlogHer ’09 and really didn’t get a chance to chat with her enough – partially because it was pure chaos and partially because I was so intimidated of meeting her (I am a bit shy unless you get a couple of cocktails in me.) She is truly BEAUTIFUL in person and has an incredible energy about her.

Ah, woman, ya got me cryin’ and snottin’ over here. I love ya so darn much. And I WAS determined to convince you that you were going – I couldn’t not have you there with me!
Beeshes gotta stick together.
What a beautiful love note you have written for me – I am humbled and honored and I adore you.
You’ll always have a spot in my room, my life, my heart.

That is true friendship. I was lucky enough to meet Lotus at lunch on Friday at the crazy Ragu lunch. She is sweet and kind and genuine. You’re lucky to have her as a friend.

I’m truly happy for you both; you’re both wonderful people. Wish I could have met you at BlogHer; I looked but didn’t see you (gee, I wonder why?!) I did talk with Lotus a couple of times; she was kind enough not to tell me to leave her alone, heehee. Thanks, Lotus!

You, darlin’–have such a heart. You know, there was a time early on when I would confuse you and Lotus (long before we gabbed on the phone) . . . no wonder why . . . you’re two of the most genuine people out in the blog world today.

Okay, a little late here, just catching up on this amazing series!
Lotus, oh how I wish I had done more than just give Lotus a quick squeal at the 704 party…she was one of my first blog pals ever (from NaBloPoMo 2007) …the one thing about BlogHer was that it was too little time to meet and chat with everyone that I wanted to… you included!
