You. are. of Love.

Dearest Piper,

I hope this collaborative shows you how much you are being supported and held up during this trying time. A time that I am so sorry you are going through.

No matter where my light shines, know that it’s shining on you.
No matter how my light travels, know that it’s keeping pace with you.
No matter how bright or dim, know that it will supplement you.
We are beams of lights, intersected.

Love,
Mishelle

I {Heart} Photo Walks

G-Clef Nashville IMG_5979

AUTO SPKR

If there’s one thing that I love to do it’s walk around different cities, camera in hand, taking pictures of anything and everything.

I try to mark each photo walk by taking pictures like the ones above.

It’s like a little special signature from each city whose streets I plant my feet.

Nashville, Asheville, New Orleans, New York City, Chicago.

And on June 5th, I will add Atlanta.

Dawn Camp and I will be leading the walk that  will be held on Saturday morning, June 5, 2010, from 9-11 a.m. beginning at the Oakland Cemetery Visitor Center and ending at Six Feet Under restaurant.

Here’s the registration link for Atlanta.

See the World

Earth Day

There’s this hill in our backyard.  In my daydreams the hill is bursting with a fiery wildflower glow.  I pick the bounty, arrange, and display them in one of the three crystal vases I own.   The vases sit on the mantle, the middle of the kitchen table, and on my night stand.  They are reminders of the handpicked beauty outside my door.

In reality our backyard hill contains an abundance of a different type of wildflower.   It doesn’t glow in majestic color.  I can’t pick anything.  They’ll never go in one of my three crystal vases.  But, they are beautiful.  Through the seasons I watch the changing of the hill.  I go out there weekly and capture this natural beauty.

A couple days ago, I awoke to these beautiful beaded spectacles that had been created on our hill.   The coffee wasn’t made, and the sleep was barely out of my eyes.  I thought of nothing else than to grab my camera and flee out the back door, to the hill’s edge.

Each one was different.

Each one held it’s own wonder.

Each one reminded me that I don’t need a hill filled with colorful flowers to pick from, for the earth is all the vase I need.
