Memories in the Making
A couple weeks ago I got an email inviting me to go to a concert in Atlanta. I’m not one to turn down music, so I replied back immediately. I got the details and started thinking about which local friend I would like to invite. Then it dawned on me; the perfect person came to mind. My artiste daughter Olivia, lover of music and creator of all things artsy-fartsy.
When I told her, her eyes wide as saucers, she said, “Mama, this is my first concert. Ever.”
“I know, isn’t it exciting,” I replied.
The day of the show we went out to run some errands, one of which included getting her a worthy concert-going outfit.
When we got home I painted her finger and toenails.
She put on a little lip gloss. I wore mascara.
And, we took off. (more…)
An Interview with Myself

So, Mishelle, what have you been doing?
Oh, lots of stuff! A couple weeks ago Pauline visited us with her boyfriend, John. It was so nice having them here. We went sight seeing and I took her to the outlet mall that I take for granted. Memorial weekend flew by, and before I knew it, we were saying goodbye.
Yes, goodbyes suck, but it’s nice that she drove 15 hours+ to see you.
I think they had fun driving down. I’m sure they’ll do it again. Or, should I say; they better!
Will you be making the 15 hour trek up north?
Only for Blogher ’10. I’m speaking, ya know?! And, I’m totally flying. Parking in NYC would kill my wallet.
I was trying to plan a way to make it up for a family wedding this month, but I just couldn’t work it out. Maybe we’ll trek up in the fall? Time will tell.
Have you been doing anything else?
Oh, you better believe it. The day Pauline and John left, I got our pool pass. We’ve swam almost everyday since then, give or take. I’m fairly tan already.
Another thing I’ve been doing lately is riding my bike. I aim for two miles and actually started out by riding on the flat track behind the high school, here, in town. It really helped me get my endurance up, and yesterday Mikey (one of my riding buddies) and I rode three miles, around town, up and down hills. Going up hills is such a challenge, but I feel a little bit stronger with each hill I climb.
Where was that adorable picture of you taken?
That photo was taken at the Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta while on the I Heart Faces Photowalk Across America. It was snapped by my Nikon-wielding friend Dawn.
What’s on tap for the rest of the month?
On June 19th I’m co-hosting the Hebrew National Better-than-a-Picnic Picnic with three other Atlanta area bloggers. We don’t have the location yet, but it’s going to be spectacular. More to come on that soon! There will be hotdogs, fruit, drinks, fun stuff, and awesome service projects. If you are in the metro-ATL, you should definitely save the date.
I have a photo shoot with a friend, later this month, and the kids and I will be meeting our original Georgia Cyber Academy teacher.
Of course there will be more swimming, lots of miles logged on our bikes, and I’ll be sure to snap pictures along the way.
Always with the camera, eh?
Dude, like, duh! Of course I’m always with the camera. Speaking of which, I have an awesome camera-related contest/giveaway coming up soon. You won’t want to miss it! Seriously, stay tuned!
