Weekly Winners {Photo Shoot at Amicalola Falls}
Yesterday, I came full circle; if you will.
Two years ago, this month, I had the pleasure of photographing a certain family. They were the first to be put in my professional portfolio. These photos (the ones I took yesterday) have so much meaning to me because it really shows how much I have grown as a photographer. I believe I’ve grown in all areas—composition, technique, and editing. That? Make me feel a sense of fulfillment. It also reinforces that I am on the right path.
We met at Amicalola Falls, and I—of course—had to capture some of our surroundings before, during, and after the photo session.

Picture It Outside of the Box {Week 1}
In honor of Halloween, for this week’s photo challenge, I present you with the theme of:
“Halloween Costumes”
Let’s see them. Your ghouls, your goblins, your Harry Potters, your Frankensteins, your mummies, your pirates, your witches, and your Sue Sylvesters!
++++++
Here’s one of mine. It’s Captain Mikey, the slick talking, life-of-the-party pilot. Complete with aviator glasses and mustache.
The Challenge: How It Works
- Each week, on Friday, I announce the “Picture It Outside of the Box” photo challenge theme.
- You can submit one photo for the theme by the following THURSDAY. Enter your direct link (to your blog post with the photo in it or your photo Flickr) in the thumbnail McLinky Tool at the bottom of the post. Keep in mind the linky-loo will close down on Thursday at 12:00 AM EST.
- FIVE submissions from my readers will be showcased on Friday, and the new theme will then be revealed.
- Basically: you play along, you have fun, we show each other our awesome photos, we share inspiration….it’s a win-win situation!
Ready. Set. Shoot.
Autumn Art
I must’ve looked crazy to my neighbors, this morning, with my hair all wild, carrying our pumpkins across the yard, with my camera dangling from around my neck.
It was time for a pumpkin photo-shoot.
Every year, around this time, I so look forward to taking pictures of our pumpkins and all the autumnal blessings of color.
Locally the colors are actively shifting from green to yellow to brown to orange to red.
I don’t know how it happens, but—without fail—I fall madly in love with the changes.
In fact, I look forward to it.
For The Lotus Carroll
The lotus flower represents health, life, honor, divinity, fertility, wealth, knowledge and enlightenment.
Which are all things I associate with my friend, Lotus.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LOTER!!
Red Flipped Fong
Self portraits are even better when taken in a friend’s red bathroom.
Though it makes me want to run out and get buckets of paint to start adding color to our boring ecru walls.

Color.
I need it.
++++++
Yesterday, while was driving home from running some errands, I really noticed it.
The autumn sun was hitting the trees producing an astoundingly beautiful fiery hue.
++++++
My life craves it.
Especially, in the fall.
