I recently had the opportunity to create personalized PictureItPostage Stamps™ with my Mishelle Lane Photography logo.   Oh My!  I just love them.   I’m going to use the bulk of  them on the Christmas cards that I send out to the clients that I had the pleasure of working with this year.  I love them so much I will probably order more personalized stamps for the other cards that are going out this Christmas.

Each set of twenty stamps costs $18.95.  However, Picture It Postage is offering a $4.00 discount just for you, my readers. By entering MOTHERHOOD, during checkout, you can claim your discount.  The coupon code expires January 31, 2011, so you have plenty of time to create and stock up one these signature stamps that can be made with your favorite family photo, cool abstract art, or your business’ logo.   It’s that personal touch that will make the recipient of your card or letter feel that much closer to you.

Uncle Shuck’s

I was just going to grab some stuff for dinner, after dropping off a disc of a recent photo-shoot.   And, for some reason I grabbed my camera.

The clouds over Uncle Shuck’s corn maze were nothing short of amazing.   I was so glad that I grabbed my camera on the way out.

BlogHer ROYO: How to Take Great Pictures, Whether You Have a DSLR or Point-and-Shoot

It’s been a while, but like almost everything, thanks to time whizzing by, it got away from me.   When Lotus told me that our recording from our photography panel with Rachel at BlogHer was up I had to share it here, along with the actual slide show that we put together for the session.

There’s information about composition, technical stuff, as well as technique, and creativity!  I hope that by listening and viewing the slide-show you are inspired.  As always if you have any questions, what-so-ever, feel free to ask!

I suggest you view the slide-show in full screen.  The pictures ROCK!

Weekly Winners {Trees and Leaves and Dreams}

Some of my fondest memories, as a child, are those long drives that I would go on with my parents.   We’d take off, and it would always start with looking at all the big houses.   The houses that we’d love to live in but, oh, who would clean all that square footage?   Myself, I would get lost in the fall colors.   Quietly, in the back seat, I would day dream about lying on the ground of the moist forest, looking up at the brilliant colors, absorbing the crisp autumn air.

Years later, I would find myself traveling those same country roads with Michael.  One year it was in my little, red truck, then it was on the back of his motorcycle, and finally in our first “family” car.   My favorite was the motorcycle.  There’s something about being on the back of one, arms wrapped securely around this man who you trust with every fiber of your being,  your mind meandering just as effortlessly as the bike zipped around the twists and curves.

I miss the motorcycle.  I miss those fall weekends—the ones so filled with youth—when we would take off and hit the countryside.  Not a cell phone in our pockets.  Not a worry in our hearts.  Just us and nature, and dreams of lying on the ground, looking up, getting lost in the splendor of fall.

The challenge for {Week 3} of “Picture It Outside of the Box” is:

Hold It

I love seeing a camera in a photographer’s hand.  There’s just something incredibly sexy about it.   Show me how you hold your camera.   This can be as basic as a bathroom mirror reflection or you can really take it “outside of the box”—you decide!

Here are a couple of examples:
