“Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns.” ~George Eliot

My mom’s birthday. Happy Birthday, Mama!

A field trip to a pottery painting place called “Mug Me” in Dahlonega, Georgia.

A day of gratitude for those whom have served our country and protected our freedom. Past, present, and future; they will forever receive my thanks.

Wishes were made on historical (leafy) sidewalks, old staircases that hold the footprints of our past, and open fields of hope, imagination, and dreams.

There on the Floor

I went to the gym four days last week. Body Flow was especially challenging this week. The best part of the whole class, though, was when I felt my body on the floor, mold and form, letting go of tension in my right shoulder, lower back, and jaw. When I am stressed I clench my jaw. Sometimes I’ll be doing something simple, like washing dishes, and I’ll realize that my jaw is closed so tightly that my teeth actually ache. While I hadn’t felt that tension it in a while I guess it decided it wanted to surface while I laid there, my feet at the outside of my mat, knees leaned in on one-another to guarantee my small back was flat. I listened as Leanne, my instructor and new friend, guided me to let go of the tension with each exhale. The external noises lessened as I traveled into the rhythm of the beautifully soothing track titled “Peace” by composer Stanton Lanier. My jaw loosened as every minor stress (the daily stresses that everyone goes through, some more than others) left my body with each breath. I, indeed, felt peace.
