Picture the Holidays – Days Four, Five
“Serenity now! Serenity now!”
“What is that?”
“The doctor gave me a relaxation cassette. When my blood pressure gets too high, the man on the tape tells me to say ‘serenity now!’”
“Are you supposed to yell it?”
“The man on the tape wasn’t specific.”
– Frank and George, in “The Serenity Now”
Picture the Holidays – Day Three
All You Need Is Love
Love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love. There's nothing you can do that can't be done. Nothing you can sing that can't be sung. Nothing you can say but you can learn how to play the game It's easy. There's nothing you can make that can't be made. No one you can save that can't be saved. Nothing you can do but you can learn how to be you in time - It's easy. All you need is love, all you need is love, All you need is love, love, love is all you need. Love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love. All you need is love, all you need is love, All you need is love, love, love is all you need. There's nothing you can know that isn't known. Nothing you can see that isn't shown. Nowhere you can be that isn't where you're meant to be. It's easy. All you need is love, all you need is love, All you need is love, love, love is all you need. All you need is love (all together now) All you need is love (everybody) All you need is love, love, love is all you need.
Picture the Holidays – Day Two
This week I have gone to *RPM every other day. I definitely pushed myself, and because of it I have developed a love for the class (and the activity on a whole.) I came home from class today ready to finish my last few conference calls for the work week. Moments before it was time to work, though, I poured myself this very cup of coffee with half-and-half. The swirl, framed in the brim, symbolized the crazy-busy whirling ways of my life lately.
We’ve got two more weeks of school work (which means two more weeks of work for me), and then a nice break into the new year. I plan on pushing myself in RPM, adding more resistance and getting stronger. I also plan on enjoying the small things like twinkling lights (both on our Christmas tree and in the eyes of my children), laughing with Michael in bed as we read all the new Damn You Auto Correct submissions or simply because we are a hilarious duo, and the warmth that is created when we really slow down to feel the peace of the holiday season as opposed to the nerve wrecking hustle and bustle.
[Today's Prompt over at Paper Coterie: "As a symbol of looking at things a little differently, today you'll be using a literal frame for your image. You get to decide what goes in your frame today and how you choose to capture it!"]
