I’ve been asking Michael to join Facebook for some time now. Come on, you’ll find a ton of people you used to know; it’s fun, I’d say to him. My ulterior motive was that I just wanted to link my husband. Well, and leave him little messages because I don’t really do those extra Lil’ Green Patches or Send a Drink or Coffee things. But, he was adamant about not joining. Nope, don’t need to, he’d constantly retort.
Then last week, after he and Olivia came home from soccer practice, one night, we had a conversation that went a little something like this:
“So I talked to S—– for a while.”
“Oh yeah, how’s he doing?”
“He’s ok. He asked me if I was on Facebook yet.”
“And you told him….”
“That I wasn’t and was probably the last person on earth who was not on there.”
“Right. So you’re—like—totally joining aren’t you? Because S—– told you to?”
“I told him I was gonna check it out. Yeah.”
“So. You’re joining because S—– told you to? Nice. You know what? I’ve been telling you to join for over a year. Guess what don’t friend me, ok? I don’t want to be your friend on there now.”
And then I stuck my tongue out and we howled in laughter. I cackled, actually.
So, he’s turned to “The Dark Side” but luckily hasn’t been sucked into the black hole completely. Yet!
As for me? I love dark side. Throw in some music and coffee and we have a trifecta!
Yellow
by: Coldplay
Look at the stars,
Look how they shine for you,
And everything you do,
Yeah they were all yellow,
I came along
I wrote a song for you
And all the things you do
And it was called yellow
So then I took my turn
Oh what a thing to have done
And it was all yellow
Your skin
Oh yeah your skin and bones
Turn into something beautiful
You know you know I love you so
You know I love you so
I swam across
I jumped across for you
Oh what a thing to do
Cause you were all yellow
I drew a line
I drew a line for you
Oh what a thing to do
And it was all yellow
Your skin
Oh yeah your skin and bones
Turn into something beautiful
You know for you I’d bleed myself dry
For you I’d bleed myself dry
It’s true look how they shine for you
Look how they shine for you
Look how they shine for…
Look how they shine for you
Look how they shine for you
Look how they shine
Look at the stars look how they shine for you
And all the things that you do

We pass* this pasture quite often —the kids and I— on our way to the park. The cows are always lounging and grazing. The view they have is extraordinary; I wouldn’t mind lounging and grazing in that space either.
*On this day, the picture on the left was taken after the picture on the right. The cows saw me taking pictures of the view and came mooing. They stopped and watched me.
