Meet Jim

When I first found Jim’s Busy Dad Blog I was instantly drawn to him. He was full of humor, he wrote well, he showed off his mad dad skillz, and he wasn’t hard on the eyes at all. I had to be his friend and I’m fairly certain that I was just plain old blunt about it.
[The following is a re-enactment from back in the Cre8buzz days.]
Me: Hi.
Jim: Uhhh, hi.
Me: We are going to be friends, ok?
Jim: O.K.
Me: Cuz I, like, love you and stuff. You’re cool. I’m cool. We’re cool.
Jim: Cool!
Me: No, seriously; we are so totally BFFs now.
Jim: I believe you.
It probably didn’t happen like that. Or it totally happened like that. Either way, I am happy to say that Jim is cool with being my friend. Thank You, God!
One time he did this Iron Chef post with his son, Fury. From that we did a challenge between our blogs/kids. It stands as one of my all-time favorite posts involving my kids. [ Iron Chef Challenge on here and The Return of Iron Chef Fury: Kitchen Stadium Showdown on The Busy Dad Blog. ] We’ve been wanting to do another one, but I can’t seem to get on the ball. Hopefully soon, though, we will have another one!
Meeting Jim at BlogHer was a big highlight for me. I totally think of Jim as a brother. He’s the kind of guy that you can turn to for advice. He’s the kind of guy that would hold your hair back, while you puke, if you [blog]hopped with him too much. He’s the kind of guy that would close down the karaoke bar with you. He’s the kind of pseudo-bro that your girlfriends will drool over because he’s just that hot. He’s even the kind of guy that your husband likes and jokes with (scroll down to the last comments for that one.)
He’s just a really good guy, and that’s why I will always be proud to call him my friend.

Would it be incest?
You know…
Not that I think that way about Jim AT ALL.
Not at all.
Well yeah. I mean, what else is there to say but fuck yes, I agree 100%?
I’m thinking it would be ok, Angie, only b/c we’re obviously not blood related. LOL
Mishi – I have said this a gazillion times, but you (and your entire family) rule(s)! And I have a terrible memory but I do remember run-ins with awesomeness. This is what went down the day we met on Cre8buzz. You left a comment on my page and said “So, I noticed that you don’t have any blogs starting with S on your blogroll” and I thought “omg I have been summoned by Secret Agent Mama! and then I proceeded to fumble with my template to add you on as quickly as possible, tripping over my keyboard (secreete agent mama, secret asian mama, sucrets agent mambs…) until I could calm myself down and do it right. We’ve come a long way, haven’t we?
You wanna know how far *I’ve* personally come. When we first met I didn’t like beer. Today I can proudly say (and this might bring a tear to your eye), I love the taste of beer. The bolder, the darker, the grittier….the better!!
For real, though, it’s a pleasure knowing that you are just a hop-skip-and-a-jump over this awesome [blogosphere] pond!
And you are super lucky living close to him. JEEEEEEELOOOOSE!!
Cre8Buzz. Aww, nostalgia.
I would also like to add that Jim is quite the gentleman and doesn’t look at you funny AT ALL when you are brought to messy ugly tears in his presence. (Not AT his presence, just IN it.)
You two are rock stars to me and can die happy since I got to hug on both of you.
I didn’t get to hug Jim. Somehow, I think I’m okay with that.
Amen. I love my Jim. Mishi.. this is my favorite series of all times.
Ha: that’s funny…if you replace “Me” with “Me” and “Jim” with “Mishi”, that’s sort of how I feel our first meeting went. :)
Busy Dad Rocks.
I’m so proud, I am teary. Next time we meet, we need to find the grittiest beer imaginable, kick back and enjoy!
Holy wow . . . there is a lot of love going on in this blog . . . a lot of love.
Plus I can totally pick him up, which I think MUST count for something.
Go on now, rub that in! (no sexual pun intended)
I cannot help it if I’m freakishly strong.
Jim is my little brother too… so we MUST be related! There must be an ancient connection between the Chinese and Macedonians :).
