#reverb {d 1,2,3}

December 1 – ONE WORD.
Encapsulate the year 2010 in one word. Explain why you’re choosing that word. Now, imagine it’s one year from today, what would you like the word to be that captures 2011 for you? (Prompt Author: Gwen Bell)

GROWTH I have chosen the word “growth” because I feel that my photography has grown a lot this year. From my business model to the way I edit, it’s all changed, and most definitely for the better. There are still days where I sit and think that I can grow more, but that’s the beauty of growth—it’s an ongoing process.

The word that captures 2011 for me has to be SUCCESS.

December 2 WRITING.
What do you do each day that doesn’t contribute to your writing — and can you eliminate it? (Prompt Author: Leo Babauta)

Day-to-day life (motherhood, et al.) mostly gets in the way of writing, but there’s no way to eliminate it.  Not unless I up and kill everyone and go to jail.  I mean, then, I might have time to write that novel that’s on the tip of my brain.   Luckily, I’m rather squeamish and killing people involves blood.  So?  I guess I’ll just have to go at the pace I’m currently going at.

December 3MOMENT.
Pick one moment during which you felt most alive this year. Describe it in vivid detail (texture, smells, voices, noises, colors). (Prompt Author: Ali Edwards)

Easy!  The moment during which I felt most alive this year was when I shot The Most Interesting Show In The World at Center Stage in Atlanta. Leading up to the event, I was nervous. I didn’t know what to expect.  How would it be?   How would I handle myself?  Would I be successful?    Well, as soon as I got there all the questions and worries washed away.  I took control and rocked the scene; a scene that was so full of life and crazy that I tweeted–in the middle of it all–that I was #$%&*@# high on adrenaline.

It was layered and lustrous.
It was loud and energetic.
It smelled like beer.
It was dark and packed.
It was colorful, too.

The energy was absolutely amazing.  Holding my camera, I walked around, and people just looked at me differently.  I was there telling the story of this event.  And, it was four hours that really made me feel alive. I was in my element, and I long to go back (or, at least, do more like it!)

{More to come from #reverb10 throughout the month of December, where I will tell you stories as I reflect on 2010, and manifest what’s next. Wanna #reverb, too?}
