Haiku: Wednesday

Haiku: Wednesday

We finally got ourselves to the library yesterday.  With all the bike riding and swimming I kept putting it off and off and off.  But, yesterday I went to pick up a book that was on hold for me.  All the kids signed up for the summer reading program and we’re going back to see the drummers today.

We just keep adding to our fun summer vacation days.

My “what ifs?” are stacked
Like blocks on a fireplace
Easily knocked down

My beautiful soul sister Stephanie inspired me today.
This week’s summer mini-series will be Haiku!

100 on 4/20

Spring having sprung,
I was driven by a blossoming Central Park in a big, black Denali.
Later my stripe-socked feet,
one in front of the other, leisurely stepped in,
My camera, with its vintage camera strap, in hand.
I watched children bellow with laughter,
Fingers dripping of sweetness,
Imploring their mother to take them to the playground.
I spotted young couples on benches, their eyes wide with love,
And comfortable pairs reading from the same newspaper.
The air swirled around a mix of city and scape.
There was a promise whispered to me,
New York City,
She is a tease.

100 Words

Spring

the gray
suffocating clouds
have lifted
the gentle breeze
twirls around you
like a fairytale dream
the busy bees buzz
methodically
from blossom to blossom
the blue
clear ceiling
an open canvas
as if a space
to draw
your
intimate bliss
these days of spring
renew
spirits
as reminders of warmth
are swirled with the breeze
rays of sun
kissing your skin
gently
like a lover
with the promise
of calm
and joy
scribbled euphoria
