Blown Away
“What We Play With”
This morning this link came through my reader (from Maria) that really captivated me. A man named Jamie Livingston took a polaroid picture a day, from March 31, 1979 until October 25, 1997 (ironically his birthday and the day he died.) I went through the compilation, briefly, and will continue to do so. I actually went to the day I got married, some of my birthdays, the kids’ and Michael’s birthdays, too.
What a poignant collection of photos from this man’s life. It really blew me away and made me really think about what I am doing here, with these projects, with this blog, with my camera, with my words. Not only am I capturing smiles, rainy days, sunsets, toys, animals, myself, and so much more, but I am documenting our time here. My time here. Someday I hope my “vault” of pictures can be looked at and reflected upon in the same way. Someday I hope this inspires [you] to start your own daily photograph project. I have tears in my eyes just thinking about my children-as-adults looking back on these days. I hope they are blown away, too!
Remember, we all stumble, every one of us. That’s why it’s a comfort to go hand in hand.
