The Perfect Spring Salad
I saw this salad on my good friend Rachel’s blog, last week.
A couple days later we discussed this salad on the phone.
The very next day I bought the ingredients I needed to make this deliciousness.
Here’s what you need:
- Baby Spinach
- Strawberries
- Blueberries
- Kiwi
- Craisins (dried cranberries)
- Walnuts
- Balsamic Vinaigrette
I decided to make it for dinner that night, and I served it with toasted baguette slices and tapenade (both of which I got a my local Trader Joe‘s—the one I travel 45 minutes to reach!)

I just drooled
May I suggest adding goat cheese? I am in my forties and finally discovered goat cheese. This salad NEEDS goat cheese. Promise.
I make a similar salad, but I’ve never tried kiwi on it. YUM. I usually add some feta to mine and use pecans instead of walnuts.
I’m planning to make this salad of Rachel’s, too. I’ve been trying to find the dressing she used (she said it was Brianna’s Americana), but no luck after two different stores. So, I may have to just go for it with some other dressing.
I was talking to Michael about adding some kind of cheese. I think you have hit the nail on the head with the goat cheese!!
I thought about feta, too.. and I love pecans and think that they would be just as great as walnuts!
I, too, have not been able to find Brianne(a)’s Americana, so I picked up a B.V. that has honey as an ingredient. I’m still looking out for the Americana one; I bet Target has it!
Tell me about it!! Add red wine.. MEGA drool!
OMG! That looks delish!!
Mishi, I’ll look at Target. Good thinking. I went to the BRIANNAS website and I saw I got the name mixed up a little. If you look for it, it’s The New American. Also, your photos are delicious!
I’m glad you searched the name b/c I forgot. I wrote my response and was like, I should search that on. Then I saw something shiny. Ok, it was a glass of wine. :)
Ha!
Enjoy!
Holy cow, that looks FANTASTIC!
You gotta try it, Diana!!
Oh my goodness. Must have that salad NOW! And I love everything about TJ’s (except that it’s about 25 minutes from my house).
Seriously, I’m not much of a foodie, but OMG that looks DELICIOUS!
WANT!
That top picture looks like you took it out in the woods and the sun was barely peeking through to illuminate. SO PRETTY. I am a new follower of yours. I am loving my visit!
