The S’more, The Merrier!

Families who visit the Hershey’s brand Facebook page on or after June 15 can download the Say S’mores application to participate in monthly photo contests and receive a $1 coupon good toward the purchase of any two Hershey’s Milk Chocolate bar 6-packs.”

Last week, our friend Pasha was visiting.  Pasha is an exchange student from Ukraine, and he’s due to go home soon.  We’ve had a great time bonding with him, and I thought it was a perfect night to introduce him to S’mores.  We couldn’t have a bonfire to roast marshmallows, so in a pinch I decided to try making them in the microwave.  I was skeptical, but —oh my gosh— it worked!

For dinner that night we had gone to Moe’s (can’t beat Kids Eat Free night!)  Pasha said he was too full to have dessert, but I still made them.  He liked them so much that he ate TWO!

Here’s some video I took of the merry S’more munching:

The kids were so happy, and now that the cat’s out of the bag—what with making delicious S’mores in the microwave—I’ll have to make S’mores for them as a treat more often.  One of them even said, “This means we can have S’mores any time we want now!”

And, that’s what happened just one night later when The Bigs stayed up late to watch a movie together.

Now you totally want some S’mores, right?

Well, good, because one reader will win a S’Mores Prize Pack!

The Prize Pack includes:

  • a 6-Pack of Hershey’s Chocolate Bars
  • a box of graham crackers
  • a package of marshmallows

It’s okay to eat s’more for breakfast, right? I was introduced to s’mores at Girl Scout camp when I was young. Roasting the marshmallows and all that melted chocolate was heaven to a kid. I’m going to have to try the microwave version… probably today, yeah, today would be good.

    Oh yum!

My favorite has to be, thus far, when we made Red, White, and Blue ones last week! They were SO good, at least the kids thought so. I didn’t get one! I was too busy taking pictures of the enjoyment LOL!

    I also twittered:!/SarahCB1208/status/85725632734044160

  3. FUN!

love your pictures, Mish! I posted a pic of a s’more today :-)

This past week we bought GIANT marshmallows and roasted s’mores over a small pit in the back yard two nights in a row and the kids thought they’d won the lottery!!!

My favorite memory, is last summer, from my birthday. We camped on the beach with friends and we made s’mores over an open flame on the beach while the waves crashed next to us, the stars shone above us and the sound of the kids chasing ghost crabs echoed in our ears.

It was pretty close to heaven.

Oh I’d be scared to teach my kids the microwave trick – they’d be S’moring away all day!

Fave S’mores memory is the first time we made them with our kids, out camping the first time, it was iconic and they loved them! Of course we had to explain the name too, they always ask for them that way now, Hey Mom, can I have S-More?
