I don’t know why, but the first and last shots are my absolute favorites. I love the negative focus of them. The sun flare with the hints of snow is another amazing shot.

What gorgeous shots!!! That shot on the slide is trippy!!!! But what beauty you found in all things.

  6. 02.13.2011

I love the perspective on most of the shots! Great shots, as always :)

Scrolling down through the pictures, I found myself saying, “Oh, that’s my favorite!” again and again and again. LOVED the dog, your camo boy, the pooped-out kid and the big brother hug. All so very awesome.

Your dog totally rocks and your children are the sweetest. It’s the good life.

mmm really love the photos this week. I think my favorites are the basketball net and the OOF tippytoes.

Can I ask you a question about your flash? Do you know, what’s the difference between the 580 and the 430? Did I ask that right? Right now I have an off-brand flash (Bower) that’s just doing what it can to help me until I believe that I’m a “real” photographer and can earn some money. I’m wondering if the true canon flashes will really be worth the big investment (considering it will delay me purchasing a new camera body!)

First, I love how you said “OOF tippytoes”!

Basically put: The 430EX II flash is a slave. The Speedlite 580EX II is the master.

The 430EX II lacks several features but delivers a great package in a smaller body, and is cheaper. If you want to get the most powerful flash, then I recommend the 580EX II.

The 580EX II has more output power, can turn 180* to the left and right, and it has a built-in catchlight card.

  14. Always so many gorgeous captures. I adore Davey & Benny on the bench. So sweet.
